Ms. Ann Gilman

Ms. Ann

My name is Ms. Ann Gilman. I am the administrator and CEO for Amazing Beginnings, Eagan Montessori Academy North and Eagan Montessori South schools.

My husband, Dr. Phil, and I have been married for 35 years and have two children. We have been living in Eagan for the past 20 years.

I first started working with Eagan Montessori about 13 years ago. I really enjoyed my work in the new career that I had chosen after working with my husband in his Chiropractic office for almost 20 years. So much so, that I decided to open a second school in 2009, Amazing Beginnings Montessori. Then again in 2016 I opened Eagan Montessori South.

As a child growing up in Sri-Lanka, I attended Montessori school and still remember some of my favorite Montessori activities. All my siblings attended Montessori schools in Sri-Lanka and they are all very successful adults in their chosen fields. I experienced firsthand the power of a good Montessori education.

Even the founders of Google credited their success to their “Montessori experience,” in an interview they did with Barbra Walters.

I am in this profession because I feel that our children are the future of the world, and I want to be a part of shaping that future. I do not take this job lightly.

I take it upon myself, to travel to different states and foreign countries to visit other preschools and understand how different programs work. This experience helps me to incorporate the best of what I learn to make our schools the best they can be.

I look forward to getting to know all the parents and the students that attend all of my schools. My fervent prayer is that all the children who go through our schools will become wonderful, kind, loving and smart adults that will make amazing contributions to society, just because they spent their formative years at one of my Montessori schools.

My name is Ms. Ruchika Verma. I have been the lead Kindergarten teacher at Eagan Montessori for the last 9 years, and am also the Center Director. I recently received a promotion as the regional director for all three of our Montessori schools. I was born in India. My mother was the principal of a public school and always instilled in us the importance of a good education. I did my studies up to high school in a convent school considered one of the best in India. After I graduated from high school I worked in a pre-school. After that I went on to Meerut University in India to get myBachelors degree in Commerce/Economics. Later on I also got my two year diploma in Computer Science.

In 1995 I got married and came to the US with my husband. We have two children and we live in Eagan. While I was a stay-at-home mom, I volunteered at Pilot Knob Elementary school for one year. While I was there I felt that my true calling was to work with children. I went on to work at Beck's Montessori school for four years and completed my Montessori teacher training program. I have also worked at the Goddard's pre-school for two years. Then I got the opportunity to join Eagan Montessori and I love it here.

I now have my Masters Degree in Education, and my director's certification from MNAEYC. I also have a Montessori certification from NAMCanda certification in the S.M.A.R.T. program. I teach Bollywood dance and have taken dance kids to professional performances. I also teach dance at Eagan Montessori. I have been in this profession for 17 years, and I could not have a more rewarding career. I enjoy teaching my great students with awesome colleagues. We are not just a school here; we are a happy family with happy children. It makes my day when past students stop by to see me - which happens very often!

Ms. Lauren

Ms. Lauren

My name is Ms. Lauren. I am currently the Lead Preschool Teacher and Assistant Director at Amazing Beginnings Montessori. I started my career in early childhood nine years ago at this location and then transferred to our sister school, Eagan Montessori North. I came back to where I started in March 2020 to be closer to home.

I was born and raised in South Saint Paul. I went on to continue my education at Inver Hills Community College and graduated with my Associate's Degree. I have also received my Montessori Early Childhood Certificate.

My son, Finn, is currently in the Toddler room and truly loves coming every day. It is a joy to see his face light up as he gets to see his friends and teachers.

I really love working with children and it has been an honor to get to know each and every child here at ABMS. I am excited to also meet new children in the future and help become a part of their daily learning. To watch a child grow is one of the most amazing experiences of being a teacher.

I really enjoy working here at ABMS. It is a very positive and encouraging environment to work at and I look forward to coming to work every day.

Ms. Jess

Ms. Jess

My name is Ms. Jess and I am a teacher here at Amazing Beginnings Montessori.

I grew up in the Midwest in both Colorado and South Dakota. I attended Spearfish High School in Spearfish, South Dakota before attending North Dakota State University in Fargo. I played soccer for the Bison while I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education.

My love of soccer led me to coaching at an early age. I coached soccer for premier clubs in both Fargo & the Twin Cities working with 8-year-olds up to 16-year-olds. I have volunteered at many elementary schools over the years and worked in after school programs as well.

I moved to Minnesota 7 years ago and currently reside in Newport. I have many hobbies including a love for art. I currently create jewelry, coasters, paintings & more for craft shows. I also do photography and specialize in children's photography. I love many sports including soccer, basketball, and snowboarding. I enjoy nature and the outdoors and most importantly I love working with kids. They are our future and their eagerness to learn is inspiring.

I have a daughter currently attending Amazing Beginnings Montessori and am a huge supporter of the Montessori Method of teaching. I love the hands on approach that it gives children to learn while allowing their creative natures to be brought out.

I love the staff and all the children here and their unique personalities that they have. They truly are a joy to work with. I hope that I can make a difference in all the children's lives and help them on their way to a bright future!

I have been training in the Montessori Method at Amazing Beginnings Montessori and will start my official Montessori teacher training this summer.
